Lubrication of moving body parts (Mercedes-Benz E-Class W210)

0
Lubrication helps reduce friction between parts. Use a lubricant spray on joints and assemblies with narrow passages where lubricant cannot reach. Rubbing surfaces are best lubricated with grease or lubricating paste.

Recommendations for the use of lubricants:
  • it is better to treat the hinges of the doors and trunk with a lubricating spray;
  • lubricate the door locks on the lower hinges with a universal grease;
  • also lubricate the lock pins on the doors, trunk and its lid with a special spray;
  • in winter, lubricate the lock splines and cylinders with a special anti-corrosion lubricant. The lubricant not only protects against moisture penetration, but also has an anti-icing effect, which makes it easier to open the locks in frosty weather. It is best to pour an anti-freeze agent into the locks in cold weather;
  • to lubricate the hood lock drive (cable) well, you need to spray it with grease and then push the handle in and out several times so that the grease penetrates inside;
  • lubricate the bonnet lock pin and the mating part with a thin layer of grease or use a spray;
  • lubricate the hood hinges with the same products;
  • lubricate the sliding surfaces of the sunroof with silicone spray.
