Adjusting the starting gap of the 1st stage of the air damper

Adjusting the starting gap of the 1st stage of the air damper:

Adjusting the starting gap of the 1st stage of the air damper:

1 - traction; 2 - intermediate lever; 3 - lever; 4 - thermostatic actuator; 5 - adjusting nut

1. This adjustment must be made at a coolant temperature of less than 20°C. At a higher temperature, cool the thermostatic servo drive 4.

2. Make sure the air flaps move freely.

3. Move rod 1 to the left, resting it against intermediate lever 2.

4. Move lever 3 until it stops against rod 1 of the pneumatic drive.

5. Check the starting clearance of the 1st stage of the air damper using a 3.2 mm diameter drill.

6. If necessary, loosen nut 5 and achieve the proper amount of travel of servo drive 4.

Adjusting the starting gap of the second stage of the air damper

Adjusting the starting gap of the second stage of the air damper:

Adjusting the starting gap of the second stage of the air damper:

1 - pneumatic drive rod; 2 - intermediate lever; 3 - lever; 6 - adjusting screw

1. Remove the bimetallic spring housing, turn on the ignition and after approximately 150 seconds move the pneumatic drive rod 1 to the left until it stops.

2. Move lever 3 until it stops against rod 1 of the pneumatic drive.

3. Check the starting clearance of the second stage of the air damper using a drill with a diameter of 4.2 mm.

4. If necessary, achieve the correct size by turning the adjusting screw 6.
