Removal
The oil pump can be removed from the vehicle by first removing the timing cover.
Intermediate shaft lubrication
A - on carburetor engines
B - on engines with fuel injection
1 - fuel pump eccentric
2 - oil supply pipe to the eccentric
1. Disconnect the oil intake pipe from the pump cover.
2. Remove the oil pump cover.
3. Remove the oil pump gears.
4. Check the condition of the gears, put them back in place and check the clearances.
5. If the gears rotate with difficulty, the clearance limits are exceeded, or if the gears are damaged, replace the entire set of gears.
Installation
When installing, replace all seals and pay attention to the position of the suction pipe gasket and the tightening of the crankshaft pulley hub mounting bolt. Fill with engine oil.
Note: The oil pump drive sprocket can only be installed in one position. Install the oil pump in the reverse order of removal.
