Removal and installation the glove box and its cover (Mercedes-Benz E-Class W123)

1. Remove the lock retainer (two screws) and take out the studs.

2. Remove the light bulb and disconnect the wiring connector.

3. Remove the storage compartment from the instrument panel.

4. Remove the Phillips head screws from the box lid and the castle nuts.

5. Place the locking pin on the outer edge of the cover in a vertical position and detach the locking bracket. Since the locking pin has a stopper on one side, it must be turned 180° if it cannot be removed.

6. Lift the inner cover and remove the outer cover, then remove the inner cover and the lock bracket.

7. If necessary, the lock can be removed by squeezing its jaws with pliers. There is a mark "oben" (top) on the upper end of the lock.

8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
