Removal and installation seats (Mercedes-Benz E-Class W123)

Driver's seat



1. Raise the seat to its highest position and slide it forward as far as possible.

2. Disconnect the return spring.

3. Loosen the bolt and slide out the slide.

4. Unscrew the rear bolts securing the skids.

5. Depending on the configuration, on sedan models that do not have height adjustment for the seats, unscrew the bolts of the side brackets.

6. Lower the seat to its lowest position and move it as far back as possible.

7. Loosen the front skid mounting bolts and, on coupe models, disconnect the automatic locking system vacuum pipe.

8. Remove the seat from the vehicle.

9. Install the seat in the reverse order of removal.

Front passenger seat



1. Move the seat to the extreme forward position, loosen the bolt and extend the runners.

2. Remove both side bracket bolts.

3. Move the seat to the rearmost position, unscrew the front bolts securing the runners and remove the seat from the vehicle.

4. Install the seat in the reverse order of removal.

Rear seat cushion and backrest (models with a sedan body)



1. Press the safety catch and remove the seat cushion (the armrest remains in the folded position).

2. Unscrew the lower seat back mounting bolts, place the armrest in its working position and unscrew the central lower mounting bolt.

3. Remove the backrest by pushing it upwards to release it from the upper fasteners.

4. Install the seat in the reverse order of removal.



Rear seat cushion and backrest (station wagon models)



1. Press down on the locking handle and fold the seat cushion forward.

2. Press the safety latches and remove the seat cushion.

3. Remove the plastic covers, unscrew the bolts and remove the seat back from the vehicle.

4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
