Windshield
windshield installation
1. Remove the interior moldings from the upholstery, leaving the top molding in place.
2. Use a blunt screwdriver to loosen the inner rubber seal.
3. With the help of an assistant, carefully squeeze out the windshield from the inside and remove it from the car.
4. Remove the corner pads and moldings from the rubber seal, and then remove the seal from the glass.
5. Clean body opening, rubber seal and windshield.
6. Place the rubber seal on the glass, then soak the moldings and corner pieces in warm soapy water and install them on the seal.
7. Cut a piece of cord longer than the perimeter of the windshield, dip it in soapy water and thread it into the groove of the seal.
8. Apply an 8 mm thick bead of sealant to the vertical pillars of the body opening.
9. Install the glass in the opening of the body so that the ends of the cord are in the middle of the lower edge of the glass, and then push on the glass, while the assistant pulls out the cord, so that the seal sits on the flange of the opening.
10. Reinstall the interior moldings.
11. Outside, around the perimeter of the glass, press the sealant between the seal, glass and body, and remove the excess sealant.
Rear glass
1. Disconnect the windshield heating element wiring, remove the C-pillar trim and operate the windscreen.
