Windshield installation

Windshield installation

1. Remove the interior trim moldings, leaving the top molding in place.

2. Use a blunt screwdriver to release the internal rubber seal.

3. With the help of an assistant, carefully push out the windshield from the inside and remove it from the vehicle.

4. Remove the corner trims and moldings from the rubber seal, and then remove the seal from the glass.

5. Clean the body opening, rubber seal and windshield.

6. Place the rubber seal on the glass, then soak the moldings and corner trims in warm soapy water and install them on the seal.

7. Cut a piece of string longer than the perimeter of the windshield, soak it in soapy water and thread it into the groove of the seal.

8. Apply an 8mm thick bead of sealant to the vertical pillars of the body opening.

9. Install the glass into the body opening so that the ends of the cord are in the middle of the lower edge of the glass, and then press on the glass while the assistant pulls out the cord so that the seal sits on the flange of the opening.

10. Reinstall the interior moldings.

11. Press the sealant between the seal, glass and body along the outside perimeter of the glass, and remove any excess sealant.

Rear window

1. Disconnect the wiring of the glass heating element, remove the rear pillar trim and perform operations with the windshield.
