Removal



1. 1.8 and 2.0 L engine: Loosen the clamp (4/8) and remove the air hose from the air filter (4).

2. 2.2 and 2.8 L engines: remove the flow meter together with the air hose from the air filter (4), after first opening the fastening clamp on the air filter pipe. Check the O-ring for damage.

3. Remove the intake manifold (4/16).

4. Pull the air filter out of the rubber mounts (arrow) and remove it.

Installation



1. Insert the air filter with retaining tabs into the rubber supports (arrows). Fit the intake manifold (4/16).

2. 1.8L and 2.0L engines: Attach the air hose to the air filter and secure it with a clamp.

3. 2.2L and 2.8L engines: Insert the flow meter with the O-ring seal and secure it with the mounting clamp.



Diesel engine



Removal



1. Remove the clamp spring from the hose that goes from the coolant expansion tank to the air cleaner.

2. Remove the air hose from the air filter by first loosening and sliding the clamp back.

3. Remove the air intake manifold.

4. Remove the air filter from its rubber mounts and discard.

Installation



1. Insert the air filter together with the guide pins into the rubber mounts.

2. Attach the air intake chute.

3. Slide the air hose from the coolant expansion tank to the air filter onto the air cleaner.
