Gas engine
Removing
1. Pull out temperature sensor for intake air (B17) from the transverse pipe, to do this, squeeze the retaining clips (arrow).
2. Screw on the clamps (4/8), (4/13) and remove the air filter cross tube (4/5) together with a shaped hose (4/6).
Installation
1. 4-cylinder engine: fit the air cleaner cross tube in such a way that both locating elements on the underside are pressed into the retaining lugs on the high voltage wire cover (arrows).
2. 6-cylinder engine: Fit the air filter transverse tube in such a way that the welded-on hollow pins are pressed into the rubber bearings of the cylinder head cover. Hollow pins are used for ventilation of the crankcase and for fixing the transverse pipe.
3. Tighten the hose clamps tightly.
4. Install the intake air temperature sensor (1B17) and push the retaining clips out until they click into place.
Diesel engine
Removing
1. Remove the bolts (97/3) on the inlet pipeline.
2. Remove the bolts (97/2) from holder (97/1) air filter cross pipe.
3. Remove the air filter cross tube.
Installation
1. Check the sealing collar for defects and porosity (97/4) and O-rings on the hydraulic valve body/air filter cross tube, replace if necessary.
2. Insert the cross pipe of the air filter, install the bolts in the inlet gas line.
3. Screw the holder and tighten the bolts on the inlet gas pipeline to failure.
