Removing
1. Disconnect fastenings of an upholstery of a luggage carrier and remove it.
Attention! Shock absorbers serve as a spring stop for the rear wheels. Therefore, it is better to disconnect the upper shock absorber mount on a car standing on wheels. If the car is raised, support the suspension arm, otherwise the axle will fall out. When unscrewing the upper mount, the shock absorber piston rod should not rotate, because. the fastening of the working cylinder can be unscrewed and an accident may occur.
2. Unscrew the nuts (75a). If the piston rod turns at the same time, keep it from turning by the flats with an open-end wrench. When loosening the locknut, hold the bottom nut with a 17mm open end wrench.
3. Raise the car from behind.
4. Where equipped, remove the suspension arm cover (72s), by unscrewing 2 screws (72d).
5. Unscrew the nut (75I) on the suspension arm and remove the bolt with washer (75h).
6. Remove shock absorber (75) from suspension arm (72) and from the bearing base of the body. If this is difficult to do, press the shock absorber with a screwdriver through the hole in the lever, then pull the shock absorber down.
Installation
1. Check the shock absorber before installation.
2. Check rubber parts for porosity and damage, replace if necessary.
3. New shock absorbers are supplied with a stop buffer (75i), protective cap (75f), rubber support (75d) and dimensional sleeve (75k).
4. Install the shock absorbers with the color marking to the rear.
5. Put the bolt (75h) and tighten it with a new self-locking nut to 55 Nm.
6. Screw on the suspension arm cover.
7. Slowly lower the vehicle while inserting the shock absorber into the upper mounting hole.
8. Put on the rubber ring (75c) and puck (75b).
9. Screw both nuts (75a) on the shock absorber. In this case, screw the lower nut to the end with a torque of 15 Nm, and tighten the locknut with a torque of 30 Nm. Make sure that the piston rod does not turn, holding it by the flats if necessary.
10. Install the trunk lining and fasten the fasteners.
