Instruments and electrical equipment
1. Check the operation of all appliances and electrical equipment.
2. Check that all gauges are reading correctly and turn on all electrical equipment to make sure it works properly.
Steering and suspension
3. Check if there are any abnormalities in the steering and suspension. like a machine "keeps" road"?
4. Notice if there is any unusual noise or vibration.
5. Make sure that the steering operates smoothly, without glorification and jamming. Pay attention to the sounds made by the suspension during tight turns and when driving over bumps.
Transmission
6. Check the operation of the engine, clutch, gearbox and drive shafts.
7. Listen for any unusual sounds from the engine, clutch and transmission.
8. Make sure the engine runs smoothly at idle and does not fall when you press the throttle pedal (gaining momentum quickly).
9. Make sure the clutch operates smoothly and gradually. The car moves smoothly and the pedal travel is not large. Listen for noises when you press the pedals.
10. Make sure the gear shifts smoothly and without crackling. Make sure the shift lever is securely in place in all gears.
11. For models with automatic transmission, check that all gears shift smoothly without jerks and that the engine speed does not increase between shifts. Check that it is possible to engage any transmission mode with the machine stopped. If any problems are found, contact your Mercedes-Benz dealer.
Brake system
12. Check whether the car is pulling to the side when braking and whether the wheels are blocked during hard braking.
13. Check if the steering wheel vibrates when braking.
14. Check the operation of the parking brake. The vehicle must be kept on a slope. The stroke of the brake lever should not be too large.
15. Check up work of the vacuum amplifier as follows. Shut off the engine and depress the brake pedal a few times to remove all vacuum from the booster, then start the engine. As soon as the engine starts, as the vacuum increases, the pedal should become softer. Let the engine run for two minutes, then shut it off. If you now press the brake pedal, a hissing sound should be heard coming from the vacuum booster. After four or five clicks, the hiss should stop and the pedal should become noticeably stiffer.
