Removal
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the steering wheel as described in Chapter 10.
3. Remove the cover under the instrument panel on the driver's side.
4. To access the back of the instrument cluster, work from below, under the instrument panel, and disconnect the air duct and blower nozzle on the right side.
5. Loosen the speedometer cable mounting nut and pull out the cable.
6. Push the instrument cluster out of the panel from the rear to release it from the five latches.
7. Note the location of the wire plugs and disconnect them from the back of the panel (see Fig. 8.7, a, b).

8. Remove the instrument cluster from the vehicle.
Installation
9. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
