Preparing to remove the cylinder head
1 - Inlet pipe; 3, 7 - Decorative panels; 4 - Exhaust pipe; 4a - Exhaust manifold; 5, 62 - Brackets; 6 - Exhaust gas recirculation pipe; 8 - Inlet manifold; 9 - Glow plug wire; 10 - Air filter; 11 - Air intake tube; 12 - Fuel filter; 13 - Exhaust gas recirculation valve; 93 - Elbow branch pipe; 120 - Battery; 155 - Support stand; X26/2 - Wiring connector


1. Remove the camshaft.

2. Remove the injectors.

3. Remove the generator drive belt.

4. Disconnect the negative battery cable (120).

5. Disconnect the air inlet pipe (11) and the air filter cover (10) together with the filter element.

6. Remove the decorative panels (3) and (7).

7. Disconnect the inlet pipe (1) from the turbocharger.

8. Unscrew the support post (155) of the return pipe.

9. Unscrew the oil supply line from the cylinder block.

10. Remove the fuel filter (12).

11. Unscrew the bracket (62) of the oil level indicator guide pipe.

12. Remove the tube (6) between the EGR valve and the intake manifold or compressed air supply tube.

13. Disconnect the exhaust gas recirculation valve (13).



14. Unscrew the exhaust pipe (4) from the exhaust manifold.

15. Unscrew the wires (9) from the glow plugs.

16. Disconnect the connector (X26/2).

17. Remove the inlet manifold (8).

15 - Sliding lever; 16, 17, 18, 19 - Bolts; 20 - Cylinder head; 21 - Gasket; 221, 222 - Sliding lever pins


1. Remove the sliding lever pins (221), (222) from the cylinder head.

2. Remove the sliding lever (15).

3. Unscrew the bolt (16) securing the timing chain cover to the cylinder head.

4. Loosen the cylinder head mounting bolts (17), (18) and (19) in the reverse order to that shown in the illustration.

5. Remove the cylinder head (20) together with the gasket (21).

6. Wipe the cylinder head bolt holes.



Installation



Installation


Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. The order of tightening the cylinder head mounting bolts is shown in the illustration.
