Safety precautions when repairing a car (Mercedes-Benz E-Class W210)

Safety precautions play an important role in car maintenance and repair. If you neglect them, accidents may occur not only with you, but also with others.

When carrying out repair work on your vehicle, observe the following safety precautions:

1. Do not smoke when working with fuel equipment.

2. Wear safety glasses when drilling, grinding and chiselling.

3. When performing repair work or servicing the vehicle, while in close proximity to the running engine, use headphones.

4. When working with metal (for example, when drilling) use gloves.

5. Use extreme caution when in the inspection pit while the engine is running.

6. Use respiratory protection during painting work. Ensure ventilation in the work area.

7. Dispose of used fuel, oil, brake fluid and other materials only in specially designated places.

8. When replacing fuses, install only fuses of the same rating. Never use pieces of wire or other "bugs".

9. Use extreme caution when working with the ignition system. Check the ignition system with the engine off. If you need to check the ignition system while the engine is running, do not touch it with your hands.
