If you only do occasional car repairs, the following set of tools will be sufficient for you:

1. A set of screwdrivers with non-slip handles for slotted, Phillips and Torx screws (Fig. 2.2).

2. A set of open-end and ring spanners (Fig. 2.3). It is good to have double spanners with sizes from 6 to 19 mm. It is desirable to have combination spanners SW 10, 13, 17 and 19 mm (open-end/socket wrench).

For work with electrical equipment components and electrical circuits, we recommend electrical installation pliers 1 (Fig. 2.9) for plug connectors and cable connections, universal pliers 2 with insulated handles, an electrical tester 3 with a ground wire, and a screwdriver 4 with an insulated handle.

9. For work on the engine and under the car, a set of socket heads 1 (Fig. 2.10) with sizes 10–32 mm and a ratchet handle 2 with a 1/2 inch tip is recommended. The set is cheaper than buying all the components separately. For work in the cabin, you should also have a set of socket heads with a ratchet handle with a 1/4 inch tip. Along with Phillips, slotted, Torx screws and synthetic latches, suppliers often supply screws with a SW from 6 to 13 mm.
Tool kit in your car
Check if your car is equipped with tools, as tools stored in the garage will not help you on the road. Your car is already equipped with a jack and a screwdriver. Put down the flashlight 1 (Fig. 2.11). In case of poor contact or a broken cable, you will need universal pliers 2, a spare electric wire 3 and electrical tape 4. You should also have a set of bulbs 7 and fuses 5, a towing cable 9, a set of wires for starting the engine 6 and a wheel brace 8 for the wheels.
