Fixed caliper design (front wheel brakes)
45 - Anthers; 47 - Pistons; 50 - Cuffs; 020 - Pliers for rotating pistons; 026 - Forceps; 027 - Plates; 040 - Metal segment
1. Remove the caliper (see Section Removal and installation of brake calipers).
2. Using tongs (026) and a suitable plate (027) fold back the anthers (45).
3. Insert a metal segment into the caliper (040), then, by supplying compressed air, squeeze out the pistons (47) all the way into the cylinders.
Note. A fragment of a brake disc can be used as a segment.
4. Using special tongs (020) remove the pistons from the cylinders.
5. Visually assess the condition of the working surfaces of the pistons and cylinders. Replace the caliper if necessary.
6. Remove the cuffs from the grooves in the cylinders (50).
7. Installation is in reverse order - before landing, lubricate the NEW cuffs (50) fresh brake fluid.
