Removal

Remove the screws and disconnect the lower suspension from the heater.



1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system.

2. Remove the ground cable from the battery.

3. While working in the engine compartment, loosen the clamps and remove the heater radiator coolant supply and two return hoses.

Caution: To remove coolant from the heater core, apply low pressure air through one of the coolant supply hoses to the heater core.


4. Remove the instrument panel and center console.

5. Unscrew the nuts and bolts and remove the panel cross member and pillar (see fig. Location of panel crossmember mounting bolts at steering column, Location of left front pillar mounting bolts, Location of pillar mounting bolts).

6. Disconnect the plastic air ducts that supply air to the upper and lower parts of the car's interior from the outlets to the heaters (see fig. Disconnecting the plastic air duct that supplies air to the upper part of the vehicle interior, Location of the plastic air duct that supplies air to the lower part of the vehicle interior).

7. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the heater, then disconnect the control cables from the flap levers (see Fig. Fastening the control cable to the flap lever).

8. Loosen the steering column lock mounting bolt, then insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to the first position. Press the lock button and remove the steering column lock.

9. Unscrew the nuts and remove the heater. Remove the heater gasket from the engine compartment bulkhead.

10. Disconnect the electrical connector from the heater blower motor and remove the wires from the mounting brackets.



Installation



1. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following points.

2. On models not equipped with a Valeo heater, apply a thin layer of sealant to the engine compartment bulkhead before installing the heater.

3. Fill the cooling system with coolant.
