1. Remove the ground cable from the battery.
2. Remove the decorative cover from the lower seat belt mounting bolt, then unscrew the bolt and remove it together with the washer (see fig. 3. Remove the door seal from both sides of the center pillar (see Fig. Removing the door seal from both sides of the center pillar).
4. Remove the lower screws securing the center pillar trim panel and remove the trim from the pillar (see fig. Location of screws for fastening the decorative trim panel of the central pillar, Removing the decorative trim panel from the central pillar).
5. On models with a seat belt tensioner, disconnect the electrical connector from the tensioner located on the retractor drum (see Fig. Disconnecting the electrical connector from the seat belt tensioner mechanism).
6. Unscrew the bolt and remove the upper seat belt mount (see Fig. Removing the Upper Seat Belt Fastener).
7. Unscrew the inertia drum mounting bolt and remove the seat belt with the inertia drum from the door pillar (see Fig. Location of the seat belt inertia drum mounting bolt).
Caution: On models with a seat belt tensioner, do not disconnect the tensioner from the reel.
8. If necessary, loosen the nut and bolt and remove the seat belt height adjustment mechanism from the door pillar (see Fig. Location of the seat belt height adjustment mechanism mounting nut).
