All additional engine units are driven by a V-ribbed belt. It is wider than a regular V-belt and has many ribs on the inside.

The automatic tensioner ensures uniform tension of the V-ribbed belt over a long period of time.

The belt should be checked for damage as part of regular maintenance. V-belts have different lengths depending on the vehicle equipment.

Removal

1. Remove the fan hydraulic clutch.

1. Remove the fan hydraulic clutch.

2. Place a spanner with an E10 bolt socket on the tension roller and loosen the belt (11) by turning it clockwise.

Installation

1. Check the belt pulley profile and tensioner for damage and dirt, clean or replace if necessary. Pay attention to the knocked out places of installation of the tensioner supports and the dimples on the belt pulleys.

2. V-ribbed belts with dirt deposits between the ribs, cracks, fringes and broken ribs must be replaced.

3. Apply the V-belt, starting from the tension roller, in accordance with the digital markings in the figure.

4. Release the tension roller (see picture). The marking (B) must be located only in the working area (A). If this is not the case, either the belt is of the wrong length or the tensioner is faulty.

5. Visually check the fit of the belt on the belt pulleys.

6. Install the fan hydraulic clutch.
