Removing
1. Mark with paint the position of the front wheels in relation to the hub. Thanks to this, the removed wheel can be put in the place where it was before. Loosen the wheel bolts with the vehicle on the ground, then place it on stands, unscrew the bolts completely and remove the front wheels.
2. Unscrew the steering damper (46) from the tie rod (11). Unscrew the fixing nuts of the pendulum arm hinges (26) from the bipod of the steering mechanism (23) and on the steering knuckles. While doing this, hold the hinge pins with an Allen key SW 5.
3. Remove the steering linkage using puller 050 or HAZET 779.
Attention! Do not damage rubber cuffs.
Examination
1. Move the hinges by the pins. If there is increased ease of movement or if there is play, replace the tip of the steering linkage lever.
Attention! Left trapezoid hinge is for cornering only (does not lean).
2. Check the anthers for damage and leaks (protrusion of the lubricant contained inside them). If the anthers are damaged, replace the rod tip, respectively, the rod, because. dirt that gets inside disables the hinge in a short time.
Attention! If the cuff is damaged only during removal, it is enough to replace the cuff.
Installation
1. Clean the pins of the trapezium hinges, as well as the seats in the control levers, from grease.
2. Firmly insert the pins of the hinges into the cones of the corresponding levers.
3. Install new self-locking nuts while holding the stud with an Allen wrench and tighten the nuts to 50 Nm.
4. Screw the steering damper with a new self-locking nut, tightening it with a torque of 35 Nm to the steering rod.
5. Position the front wheels so that the markings match when removed. Screw on the wheels. Remove the vehicle from the stands and tighten the wheel bolts to 110 Nm in a cross pattern.
6. Check convergence.
Attention! To be on the safe side, make sure all link pivots are fitted with new self-locking nuts and tightened to the correct torque before riding.
