- brake fluid is poisonous. Never suck it out by mouth through a hose. Pour brake fluid only into vessels, the use of which for other purposes is excluded;
- brake fluid corrodes car varnish when it gets in, if this happens by accident, immediately wipe it off and rinse with plenty of water;
- brake fluid is hygroscopic, i.e. absorbs moisture from the surrounding air. Therefore, brake fluid should only be stored in closed containers;
- Brake fluid that has already been used once in the brake system must not be reused. When bleeding the brakes, fill only with new brake fluid.
Brake fluid specification: DOT 4.
Brake fluid must not come into contact with grease or mineral oil. Already slight traces of mineral oil make the brake fluid unusable or lead to failure of the brake system.
Change the brake fluid every 2 years, if possible after the cold season.
Donate used brake fluid to a special waste depot, and do not drain it into the sewer. Do not mix brake fluid with engine oil.
