Electronic control unit
Removing
1. Electronic control unit of diesel engine management system (EDS) located in the rear of the engine compartment behind the false panel partition.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
3. Disconnect the control box wires from the multi-pin connector.
4. Remove the fixing screws and remove the unit from the partition.
Installation
5. Installation is made in an order, the return to an order of removal.
Overload protection relay
Removing
6. The relay is mounted in the base unit, next to the microprocessor of the EDS system - refer to the previous subsection. It contains fuses and diodes that protect the EDS system from overcurrent and power surges.
7. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
8. Carefully remove the relay from the board.
Installation
9. Installation is made in an order the return to an order of removal.
Crankshaft speed sensor
10. Refer to the information given for the electronic idle control system in paragraph 12.
Coolant temperature sensor
11. Refer to the information given for the electronic idle control system in paragraph 12.
Electromagnetic drive system ELR
12. Refer to the information given for the electronic idle control system in paragraph 12.
Solenoid vacuum valve system ELR
13. Consult the information provided in chapter 4D.
Air flow meter
Removing
14. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Remove the air cleaner assembly as described in paragraph 2.
15. Unscrew the air cleaner bracket from the airflow meter housing.
16. Loosen the clamps and disconnect the inlet pipe elbow and the pipe on each side of the air flow meter. Remove sealing rings.
17. Disconnect actuator wiring from connector.
18. Turn away bolts and nuts of fastening and remove the measuring instrument of an air stream from a supporting arm.
Caution: Handle the airflow meter with care - it is a sensitive device.
Installation
19. Installation is made in the reverse order of removal.
Intake air temperature sensor
20. The inlet air temperature sensor is built into the air flow meter - refer to the previous subsection.
