Adjustment with a set of shims
1. Remove the distributor cap.
2. Raise the rear of the vehicle with a jack, engage fourth gear and turn the engine crankshaft by rotating the crankshaft pulley bolt so that the fibre pad of the breaker hammer rests on the tip of one of the cams of the distributor drive shaft.
3. Loosen the fixed contact fastening screw and adjust the gap between the contacts using a set of shims (see the adjustment data in the subsection "Design and technical characteristics - Ignition system").
4. Tighten the fixed contact fastening screw, turn the engine crankshaft a few revolutions to ensure that the gap between the contacts is adjusted correctly.
