Removal



1. Remove the center console, refer to the relevant section.

2. Remove the upper center console cover, refer to the relevant section.

3. Remove the radio or navigation device, refer to Section Removal and installation the radio.

4. Loosen the screws securing the cover under the instrument panel and open the cover, refer to the relevant section.

5. Remove the fuse box cover, refer to Section Relays and fuses.

6. Remove the left group of switches, refer to Section Removal and installation a group of switches to the left of the control panel.

7. Remove 2 screws from the bottom.


7. Remove 2 screws from the bottom.

8. Remove the mounting screws at the top left and at the center console.


8. Remove the mounting screws at the top left and at the center console.



9. Using a plastic wedge, remove the lower part of the instrument panel from the holders.

10. Using the MERCEDES cam spanner 210 589 00 07 00, disconnect the socket (1) of the ignition switch and disconnect the starter control unit from the lower part of the instrument panel.

11. Disconnect the cable at the parking brake release handle and remove the lower part of the instrument panel.

Installation



Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
