The expansion clamp consists of the clamp itself and a plastic screw (1) or pin (2). The plastic screw is screwed into the hole of the clamp or the pin is pressed into the clamp, causing the clamp legs to expand.

Many plastic covers and trims are secured with expansion clamps.

Removal

1 Plastic screw: Using a small screwdriver, loosen the plastic screw slightly and remove the clamp by the screw from the hole.

2 Release pin: Using a small screwdriver or your fingernails, slightly pry the pin (2) out of the clamp.

Installation

1. Plastic screw: Insert the clamp with the plastic screw removed into the hole and screw in the screw.

2. Expanding pin: Insert the clamp with the pin extended into the hole and press the pin.

3. Now the clamp is fixed.
