1. Drain the cooling system (see Chapter Routine care and maintenance).

2. Disconnect the two ventilation hoses (1).

3. Remove the cooling system hose (2).

4. Remove the bolts (3).

5. Lift the expansion tank (4) and release it from the rubber supports (5).



6. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the coolant level sensor (6).

7. Remove the expansion tank (4).

8. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

9. Finally, check the cooling system for signs of developing leaks.

1. Remove the crankcase guard.

2. Then proceed according to the instructions given above in paragraphs 1 through 9.

M628



1. On diesel vehicles equipped with a 628 series engine, the expansion tank is mounted in the same way as on petrol models (see above).
