Diagnosis of tire faults
Wear | Cause |
| More wear on both sides of the tread | Tire pressure too low |
| More severe tire wear in the middle of the tread around the entire circumference of the tire | Tire pressure too high |
| Tire profile erosion on the sides | Static and dynamic wheel imbalance. Too much lateral runout of the rim, too much play in the support joints |
| Erosion in the middle of the tire profile | Static imbalance of the wheel. Possibly due to too much runout in height |
| Heavy wear in the middle of the tread in certain places | Traces of blockage from full braking |
| Scaly or saw-tooth wear of the profile. Associated with tire breakage, which soon becomes visible | Overloading the vehicle. Check the inside of the tires for tears |
| Rubber tongues on the sides of the tire profile | Incorrect wheel alignment. Tires are worn. Also check the condition of the rear shock absorbers |
| Burrs on the sides of the front tire profile | Incorrect wheel width adjustment. Tires worn. Frequent driving on steeply curved roads. Fast driving on turns |
| Impact breaks in the base of the tires. At first, only visible from the inside of the tire | Driving over rails, sharp rocks and similar objects at high speed |
| One-sided wear of tire tread | Check the wheel alignment |
