Examination
1. Pull off the air intake pipe, which is routed from the air cleaner to the front of the engine compartment.
2. Remove the screws and disconnect the heater damper valve from the air cleaner. Disconnect the warm air hose from the valve base (see fig. 3.2).

3. From the back of the valve body, direct hot air through the thermostat. View the damper through the inlet at the front of the housing. The thermostat must move the damper and close the hot air outlet when its temperature exceeds 30°C. If it doesn't, replace the thermostat as described in the next section.
Thermostat replacement
4. After removing the damper housing from the air cleaner, carefully remove the thermostat from the mandrel and separate it from the pusher.
5. To install a new thermostat, first slide the control plunger and spring back into the housing. After that, install the thermostat in the mandrel. Release the pusher, making sure that it is correctly aligned with the end of the thermostat.
6. Install the damper housing to the air cleaner in the reverse order of removal.
After that, install the air intake pipe.
