Tables at the end (section 19) contain information about the dimensions and adjustment data, they should be guided by all types of repair work. Individual sections of the manual do not always provide the necessary information about dimensions or adjustment data, so use the above tables. This is especially important when refining the model to avoid possible errors.
Simple operations like "open the hood" when working in the engine compartment, or "loosen wheel nuts" when working with wheel brakes, they are not always mentioned, because this goes without saying. On the contrary, complex works are described in great detail. When carrying out any type of repair work, the following instructions must be observed:
- Bolts and nuts must always be clean and lightly lubricated and free from damage and burrs. If in doubt, replace with new bolts or nuts. Self-locking nuts can only be used once.
- Degreasing of bolts and nuts is not allowed.
- When working, always use tables with data on the tightening torques of threaded connections. The data is divided into sections and is easy to use.
- All sealing washers, gaskets, lock plates, lock washers, cotter pins, rubber O-rings must be replaced with new ones. When dismantling the shafts, the corresponding seals must be replaced with new ones during assembly. Before installation, the working surfaces of the stuffing boxes must be lubricated and attention should be paid to the position of the stuffing box relative to the parts to be sealed.
- The indications for the right and left sides of the car are based on the direction of the car in front, similarly, the indication "front" And "behind". In doubtful cases, additional explanations are given in the text.
- Pay special attention to the observance of safety regulations when carrying out work related to the repair of brakes, wheel suspensions and all work under the lower part of the body when the car must be raised. The jack supplied with the vehicle is only for changing wheels on the road. For lifting during repairs, it is necessary to use garage lifts and stands that securely fix the position of the raised vehicle. When using bricks as a stand, be sure to put a wooden spacer between the car and the stand.
- Lubricants, oils, underbody protective coatings and all mineral substances are aggressive to rubber elements and brake actuators. It is especially necessary to protect the rubber elements from the effects of fuel. When washing brake parts, use only brake fluid or alcohol, do not allow brake fluid to get on paintwork surfaces.
- To ensure a quality repair, only recommended original spare parts should be used. In all doubtful cases, coordinate the use of certain parts with the manufacturer.
- When ordering spare parts, please specify the exact model designation with chassis number, engine number and year of manufacture.
All repairs on the car, especially those related to brakes, steering, must be carried out carefully and accurately. A repaired vehicle must guarantee road safety.
