Removal the sound signal (Mercedes-Benz E-Class W210)

The horn contact in the steering wheel is energized via a fuse directly from the battery. This means that even with the ignition off, pressing the horn button will produce a horn sound. If there is no sound, you should check whether the device itself is actually faulty.

1. To remove the signal located in front of the radiator, open the hood and remove the protective grille of the electric fan (on cars with air conditioning) on the radiator grille. To remove the signal attached to the bottom of the bumper, place the car on supports and remove the lower protection of the engine compartment (fig. 9.31, 9.32).

2. Unscrew the signal mounting nut.

3. Remove the contact connector and remove the signal.
