A closed crankcase ventilation system sucks gases that have escaped from the cylinders into the crankcase for their subsequent combustion in the combustion chambers together with the fuel-air mixture. On M 123 engines, the system has a separator, and on M 110 engines, circulation is enhanced by a vent valve or nozzle.
