Description and maintenance of the crankcase ventilation system
Description and maintenance of the crankcase ventilation system (Mercedes-Benz E-Class W123)
0
The closed crankcase ventilation system sucks out gases that have broken through from the cylinders into the crankcase for subsequent combustion in the combustion chambers together with the fuel-air mixture. On M 123 engines, the system has a separator, and on M 110 engines, circulation is enhanced by a ventilation valve or nozzle.
Maintenance does not include any special operations except periodic checks of the system's condition and reliability.
