Towing a car

The front towing eye is located behind the cover on the right side of the bumper. Open the cover with your fingers moving forward. When installing the towing bar for a rigid hitch, insert its hook into the middle of the car (in the direction of the arrow), to ensure sufficient maneuverability.

The rear towing eye is located on the right side under the bumper.

Towing rules

Turn on the ignition to avoid locking the steering wheel and to be able to operate the horn and windshield wipers.

Set the gearbox to neutral; for vehicles with automatic transmission, set the gearbox control lever to the "N" position.

Turn on the hazard warning lights and warning lights on both the towing and hauling vehicle.

Since the brake booster and power steering only function when the engine is running, when the vehicle is not running, you must press the brake pedal and steering wheel accordingly harder!

We recommend using a towing bar for a rigid hitch, as there is a greater risk of collision when using a flexible towing cable. This cable must be elastic to prevent collisions between the towed and towing vehicles. Use only cables made of artificial fiber or cables with elastic intermediate links.

Features of towing vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission

Maximum towing speed: 50 km/h! Maximum towing distance: 50 km!

For longer distances, lift the vehicle from behind using a disabled vehicle towing vehicle or load the entire vehicle onto a disabled vehicle.

Towing a faulty vehicle without transmission oil is only possible with the drive wheels raised.

Features of towing vehicles equipped with an automatic locking differential (ASD) or an automatic slip regulation system (ASR)

For vehicles with ASD or ASR, the ignition key must not be set to position II (ignition on), if towing is carried out with the front axle raised.

Towing a car (emergency starting)

Attention! Towing (for the purpose of starting the engine) with a moving vehicle is not possible for vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission. Vehicles with a catalytic converter may only be towed when the engine is cold and during testing, as otherwise there is a risk of damage to the catalytic converter.
