2. To save time and avoid trouble, the engine assembly can be done in the following order (see fig. 17.2):
- a) Crankshaft (paragraph 19).
- b) Pistons / connecting rods (paragraph 20).
- c) Oil pump.
- d) Oil pan.
- d) Flywheel/drive plate.
- e) Cylinder head.
- g) Chain, tensioner and sprockets of the camshaft drive chain.

3. At this stage, all engine parts must be absolutely clean and dry, all faults must be eliminated in advance. Components must be in individual packages or laid out on an absolutely clean work surface.
