Types and volumes of lubricants and fluids used

Keep operating materials out of reach of children. If they enter a child's body, consult a doctor immediately.

Use only materials recommended by MB. They are listed in the Mercedes-Benz Instructions. You can get information on this issue at the service station. The use of operating materials approved by MB is an integral part of the warranty obligations.

Engine oil

Petrol models

synthetic, MB 229.1 or 229.3; ACEA A2/B3; API SH/SJ, viscosity 0W40, 5W40 (possibly Formula RS, GTX Magnatec)

Compound

Water mixed with summer "S" or winter "W" concentrate from MB

Add windshield washer fluid to water throughout the year to prevent streaks. Select the mixture composition according to the outside air temperature. Prepare the mixture in a separate container. Due to the presence of a windshield washer heating, the mixture concentration is sufficient to ensure frost resistance down to -10°C.

Petrol models

Unleaded gasoline: not worse than AI-95/A-85, on S600 models - not worse than AI-98. It is possible to temporarily use unleaded gasoline not worse than AI-91/A-82.5. In this case, the engine power will decrease slightly, with an increase in fuel consumption

Do not use fuel additives. They may cause increased wear or engine damage.

Diesel models

Summer and winter diesel fuel

Do not use ship's (Marine Diesel Fuel), boiler and other diesel fuel.

When using diesel fuel with a sulfur content of over 0.5%, change the engine oil every 7,500 km.

Winter fuel ensures normal operation down to -20°C.

Thanks to preheating the fuel when the vehicle's heating system is on, a vehicle running on winter diesel fuel can, as a rule, be operated without failure at outside temperatures down to -25°C.

Do not mix gasoline with diesel fuel.

When using summer diesel fuel, as well as at outside temperatures below -15°C, a certain amount of flow improver or kerosene, depending on the outside temperature, should be added to the fuel.

Composition of the mixture:

Flow improvers can also be used in combination with kerosene.

You can obtain a certificate of approved fluidity improving agents at any Mercedes-Benz service station.

The proportion of additive, taking into account the outside air temperature, should be minimal.

The proportion of kerosene in the mixture should not exceed 50%.

Add the additive to diesel fuel until the diesel fuel loses its fluidity due to paraffin emission. Malfunctions due to paraffin emission can only be eliminated by heating the entire fuel system.

Mix diesel fuel with kerosene only in the fuel tank. To do this, first pour kerosene into the tank, and then add diesel fuel.

After this, the engine must run for some time so that the mixture is distributed throughout the fuel system.
