The electronic ignition system is basically maintenance-free, but as part of maintenance it is still necessary to check the connections and spark plugs.
Remove the distributor cap.
The lid should be dry inside.
Check the contacts for wear and corrosion; if necessary, clean them with sandpaper.
Check the middle carbon contact for ease of movement and wear. To do this, press the contact with your finger.
Examine the cover for leakage currents. These are detected through thin, random traces on the top surface of the distributor cap.
Wipe the cover with a clean dry cloth and examine for fine cracks, if any are found, replace the cover. Then spray the inside of the cover with contact aerosol. Pull out the distributor rotor and check for cracks and contact cleanliness, clean if necessary.
Lubricate the felt insert on the distributor shaft with a few drops of oil.
Insert the distributor rotor, the rotor nose should enter the groove on the distributor shaft. Slightly turn the rotor right and left, checking the tightness of the fit.
Install the distributor cap.
