Removal and installation the oil level sensor (Mercedes-Benz C-Class W203)

Removal



1. Remove the lower engine compartment cover, refer to Section Checking the engine with a vacuum gauge.

2. Drain or suck out the engine oil, refer to Section Changing engine oil and oil filter.

3. Disconnect the connector (1) of the oil level sensor (2).


3. Disconnect the connector (1) of the oil level sensor (2).

4. Unscrew the bolts (3). Tilt the sensor and remove it from the oil pan.

Installation



1. Install the oil level sensor with a new sealing ring and tighten it to a torque of 14 Nm (the new oil pan has a torque of 10 Nm).

2. Connect the connector.

3. Install the lower engine compartment cover, refer to Section Checking the engine with a vacuum gauge.

4. Fill the system with engine oil, refer to Section Changing engine oil and oil filter.

5. Start and warm up the engine. Check the oil level sensor for leaks.

6-cylinder petrol engine



1. Remove the lower part of the oil pan.

2. Disconnect the oil level sensor from below (in front, next to the oil suction pipe), by unscrewing 2 Torx screws.

3. Tighten the oil level sensor to a torque of 10 Nm.
