2. If necessary, remove the lower engine compartment cover, refer to Section Removal and installation the engine compartment cover from the bottom side.
3. Visually inspect the flexible coupling of the cardan shaft for wear, damage and deformation using a lamp.
4. Check for cracks in the damping elements in the area of the bushings.
5. If necessary, replace the cardan shaft coupling. If there are deformations, remove the load on the shaft. If deformations persist, replace the coupling.
6. Check the damping elements for cracks. Replace them if necessary.
7. Lower the car onto its wheels.
