Tele-Aid Emergency Call System Battery Replacement (Mercedes-Benz C-Class W203)

Removal



1. Switch the emergency call systems to service mode:
  • Turn on the ignition.
  • Turn on your phone.
  • Dial * on the telephone handset#4610#. Confirm the message that appears by pressing "OK" "Kein Telematikdienst" ("There is no TV information service").
  • Turn off the ignition.
  • Turn off your phone.

2. Remove the lower trunk lid.

3. Unscrew the bolts securing the eye above the rear suspension and remove the control unit cover.

4. Unscrew the 2 mounting screws and remove the cover for the "TELEAID" control units.

5. Disconnect the battery connector and remove the battery.

Installation



1. Insert the new battery. Carefully connect and fix the connector.

2. Replace the control unit cover and secure it with screws.

3. Turn off the service mode:
  • Turn on the ignition.
  • Confirm the message with "OK" "Service-Mode verlassen" ("Exit service mode".
  • Confirm the message that appears by pressing "OK" "Kein Telematikdienst" ("There is no TV information service").
  • Turn off the ignition.

4. Secure the control unit cover.

5. Install the lower trunk lid.
