Replacing the cabin air filter element / carbon air filter (Mercedes-Benz C-Class W203)

Removal


Removal



1. Release the clamps (1).

Note: To open the central clamp, press the edge of the gutter above it slightly upwards (3).


2. Lower the cabin air filter cover (2) slightly at the front and detach it at the rear.

3. Press the cabin air filter (4) slightly in the area of the tabs (5), remove it from the housing…


3. Press the cabin air filter (4) slightly in the area of the tabs (5), remove it from the housing (6) and replace it with a new one.

Attention! The carbon adsorber does not need to be cleaned. It must be replaced at specified intervals.


Installation



1. Insert the cabin air filter into the housing.

2. Replace the filter cover and secure the clamps.

Models with automatic air conditioning

1. Remove the 2 Torx screws securing the front passenger footwell cover. Lower the cover slightly, pull it back on the right side and remove it from the left warm air duct.

2. Slide back and remove the cover next to the fan motor.

3. Remove both filters (4) downwards.

Attention! The filter does not need to be cleaned. It must be replaced at specified intervals.

4. Insert the filter into the hole next to the heater fan.

5. Replace the cover and slide it back.

6. Install and secure the footwell cover.
