Replacing fuses (Mercedes-Benz C-Class W202)

0
To avoid damages due to short circuits and overloads in the lines and consumers of the electrical system, individual electrical circuits are protected by fuses. Fuses with blade contacts are used, so that ordinary (traditional) fuses can no longer be used.

The second fuse box is located in the trunk in front of the battery. Before replacing a fuse, always disconnect the corresponding consumer first.

2. A blown fuse is identified by the melted metal strips on the walls. Fuses of two modifications are installed: "a" - from 7.5 to 30 A, "b" - 30 and 40 A.

3. Remove the faulty fuse. To remove fuses, use the plastic tweezers included in the tool kit supplied with the vehicle.

4. Insert a new fuse rated for the same amperage. The rated current is stamped on the fuse holder. In addition, the fuse holder for "a" fuses has a distinctive color, which can also be used to determine the rated current (See table).

5. Place the protective cover back on the fuse box.

6. If a newly inserted fuse blows again after a short time, the corresponding electrical circuit must be checked.

7. Never replace a fuse with wire or similar auxiliary material, as this may cause serious damage to the electrical system.

8. We recommend that you always have several spare fuses in your car. There are several holders in the main fuse box to store them.

9. Note: The location of the fuses depends on the equipment and year of manufacture of the vehicle, the actual position of the fuses is given on the fuse box cover and in the owner's manual.
