Removing
Attention! Both serially installed and commercially available receivers have a code number. It protects the receiver from unauthorized use. After turning on the radio, it is necessary to enter the code number in accordance with the instruction manual, otherwise it cannot be turned on. If the radio is coded, then determine the radio code before disconnecting the wires from the battery terminals or removing it. If the code is unknown, then only the manufacturer can put the car receiver into operation. The individual code number is indicated in the radio passport. This passport should not be kept in the vehicle.
1. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery terminal (–).
Attention! This erases the anti-theft code of the radio.
2. Insert two removal keys (51) and remove the radio (A2).
3. Depress retaining springs (arrow) and pull out the removal keys.
4. On the back of the radio, mark the wires with adhesive tape and remove them.
Installation
1. An aerial cable is not installed in a standard vehicle, as well as a line to an aerial with a remote control for its extension, they must be installed additionally.
2. Connect the wires at the back of the radio according to the markings and in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
3. Push the radio receiver into the hole in the console with pressure.
4. Connect the ground wire to the battery terminal (–). Set the time on the clock and program the anti-theft code for the radio.
Instructions for additional installation of the radio receiver
Attention! If a serial connecting wire is not used, make sure that there are no loose, bare wires. Otherwise, a short circuit will cause the wire to burn out. In stores, you can buy adapters to connect the radio.
Make sure that only type-tested component sets are used (chokes, capacitors) for interference suppression (with ABE General Vehicle Authorization). In the trade especially for Mercedes vehicles, matched sets of interference suppression elements are available together with the installation manual.
Match the radio to the antenna. To do this, tune a low power medium wave transmitter to approximately 1400 kHz. If there is no transmitter, then a noise generator can be used for tuning. Use a small screwdriver to turn the antenna termination screw (front left in the radio housing) until the best reception or maximum noise level is reached.
Attention! In doing so, turn the adjusting screw only a maximum of 1/2 turn.
