Diagnosis of malfunctions of wiper blades
CAUSE | SOLUTION |
The brushes are slipping
Dirty rubber brush | Clean the rubber brush with a stiff nylon brush and detergent solution or alcohol. |
Frayed wiper lips, rubber crumbled or worn | Replace rubber brush. |
Rubber aged, cracked surface | Replace rubber brush. |
In the cleaning zone, the remaining water immediately rolls into drops
Windshield dirty with polish or oil | Clean the windshield with a clean cloth and silicone stain remover. |
Wiper blade cleans well in one direction, poorly in the other
Rubber brush on one side deformed, no longer "tip" | Insert a new rubber brush. |
Wiper arm twisted | Carefully unscrew the wiper arm in the opposite direction until the normal vertical position is reached. |
Surfaces are not cleaned
Rubber brush popped out of frame | Carefully insert the brush into the frame. |
The wiper blade no longer rests evenly on the glass because the spring guides or guards are bent | Replace wiper blade. |
Down pressure too low due to wiper arm | This defect is observed primarily when the spare brush is incorrectly installed. Lightly oil the wiper arm pivot and spring, or install a new arm. |
