Adjustment
1. To perform the adjustment, the vehicle must be on wheels.
2. Working from underneath the vehicle, remove the metal retainer and disconnect the shift lever from the linkage (see fig. 2.3).
3. Move the shift lever to the position "N".
4. Loosen the jam nut on the end of the rod (see fig. 3.4).

5. Adjust the length of the shift rod by turning the tip so that, with the rod connected to the shift lever, between the shift lever and the limiter "N" there is a gap of approximately 1.0 mm on the shift lever yoke.
6. When the adjustment is completed, secure the shift rod to the lever with a retainer, then tighten the locknut.
Removing
7. To improve access, apply the parking brake, raise the front of the vehicle and support it on jackstands (see "Vehicle lifting and jacking up").
8. Pry the retainer from the ends of the shift rod on the shift lever and transmission, then pull the rod out from under the vehicle.
Installation
9. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
