Basic information
1. Various modifications of the recirculation system are used. The type of system and its principle will depend on the year of manufacture, engine type and market of the car.
2. A description of each recirculation system is not within the scope of this manual, therefore the actions described in this paragraph are limited to replacing the main parts, which is common to all systems.
Electromagnetic vacuum valve
Removal
3. The electromagnetic valve is located in the engine compartment on the right side.
4. Make sure the ignition is off, then disconnect the plug from the valve block.
5. Note the location of the vacuum hoses so you can reinstall them correctly. Then remove the hoses from the valve fittings.
6. Loosen the screws and remove the valve from the engine compartment.
Installation
7. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Make sure that the vacuum hoses are connected to the corresponding connections on the valve, as they were before disconnecting.

Removal
8. Before starting work, make sure that the engine is completely cool.
9. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the fitting on top of the EGR valve.
10. Where provided, unscrew the nuts and separate the recirculation pipe from the EGR valve flange. Remove the gasket.
11. Loosen and remove the nuts, then remove the EGR valve from the exhaust manifold.
Installation
12. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Check that the fastening nuts are tightened to the torque required by the Technical Specifications.
