39 - Front tapered roller bearing; 40 - Intermediate shaft; 41 - Rear tapered roller bearing; 49 - Intermediate crankcase; 78 - Rear bearing outer race; 97 - Front bearing outer race; 100 - Gearbox


1. Press the front tapered roller bearing (39) off the intermediate shaft (40).

1. Press the front tapered roller bearing (39) off the intermediate shaft (40).


2. Press the rear tapered roller bearing (41) off the intermediate shaft (40).

2. Press the rear tapered roller bearing (41) off the intermediate shaft (40).


3. Carefully press the outer bearing race (97) out of the gearbox housing.

4. Carefully press the outer bearing race (78) out of the intermediate housing.

4. Carefully press the outer bearing race (78) out of the intermediate housing.


5. Measure and adjust the distance "A" (see section Checking the dimensional characteristics of the gearbox).
