Front Wheel Brake Caliper Installation Details


1. Remove the front wheels.

2. Disconnect the brake hose (51) from the brake pipe (5) and then from the caliper (31).

3. Disconnect the wiring connector (510/1x1) from the front wheel speed sensor (810x1).

4. Unscrew the wiring connector (510/1x1).

5. If necessary, remove the front wheel speed sensor (L6/1).

Installation



Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

1. Press out the protective covers (45).

2. Insert the 28mm thick metal segment (040) into the caliper, then carefully press out the pistons (47).



3. Remove the pistons using pliers (020).

4. Check the pistons (47) and the bore in the caliper for damage; replace if necessary.

5. Remove the piston seal (50) from the groove in the cylinder bore.

6. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order. The dimensional characteristics of the front wheel brake caliper components are given in Specifications.

1. Remove the rear wheel.

2. Disconnect the brake hose (51) from the brake pipe (5) and then from the caliper (31).

3. Disconnect the wiring connector (10/4x1) from the right brake pad wear sensor (S10/4).

4. Unscrew the wiring connector (S10/4x1).

5. Unscrew the brake caliper (31) from the hub assembly.

Installation



Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
