Removal and installation parking brake shoes (Mercedes-Benz S-Class W140)

Removal

1. Remove the rear wheels.

2. Remove the rear brake discs.

3. Remove the exhaust system heat shield.

4. Tighten the automatic adjuster. Turn the eccentric pin (g) counterclockwise (about 1/2 turn), using the key, and move it back a little in the longitudinal direction so that the eccentric (b) is locked in the spring ring (d) with the protrusion (h).

5. Disconnect the return spring (111) using the lever (041).



6. Release the spring (107) using the lever (040).

7. Remove the brake shoes (103) from the drive shaft flanges (68).

8. Disconnect the return spring (112).

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
