Vehicle Identification (Mercedes-Benz S-Class W126)

To purchase spare parts, as well as to properly repair the car, it is necessary to identify it.

All information about the vehicle is contained in a 17-digit identification number stamped on the front console.



The manufacturer's plate is located on top of the radiator mounting frame and contains the following information: serial number, total weight, axle load, international manufacturer's code.

Opposite there is a plate with the car's paint number.

The engine number is stamped on six-cylinder engines at the front left below the gasket between the block and cylinder head and on eight-cylinder engines at the rear left or front right on the cylinder block.

The gearbox, rear axle and steering have a serial number stamped on their housing.
