VIN
The vehicle identification number (VIN) plate (5) is fixed to the frame in the right front wheel arch, and the number is also duplicated on the factory plate. The VIN interpretation is given below.
European models
1 and 19 — Icons with the image of the Mercedes-Benz trademark (star) - indicate the beginning and end of the VIN (presence is optional)
2—4 — International code of the manufacturer
5—10 — Model serial number (463.322/323: G270 CDI, 463.332/333: G400 CDI, 463.250: G320, 463.249: G500, 463.246: G55 AMG)
11 — Steering type (1= left-hand)

Nameplate
The manufacturer's plate (3) is attached to the rear pillar of the right front door opening. The plate indicates the VIN of the vehicle, as well as the permissible weight loads - more detailed information is available from Mercedes-Benz representative offices.
Powertrain number
On the G320, G500, G55 AMG, G400 CDI models, the powertrain number (2) is located on the rear of the engine cylinder block on the right in the direction of travel; on the G270 CDI models, the number (1) is stamped on the side of the cylinder block on the left in the direction of travel.

Chassis number
The chassis number plate (4) is placed on the upper edge of the rear bulkhead of the engine compartment, on the right in the direction of travel.
