Raise the front of the vehicle and remove the front wheel.
Using a puller as shown in Fig. 214, remove the hub cap.
Remove the spring contact to eliminate radio interference.
Disconnect the brake caliper and hang it on a piece of wire near the hub.
Remove the brake disc from the hub.
Loosen the bolt and unscrew the split nut (2) as shown in Fig. 215. Remove the washer.
Remove the hub from the steering knuckle. If you have any difficulty removing it, remove it with a puller. Remove the seal.
If the bearings are not being replaced, the hub can be installed as described below. Bearing replacement is described in section 13.5.2. Before installing the pivot pin on the axle, install the inner bearing ring and seal into the hub.
Lubricate the working surfaces of the pivot pin axis.
Place the hub on the steering knuckle axle and tap it in place with a hammer with a rubber striker.
Install a well-lubricated outer bearing and hammer it into place.

Place the washer and tighten the split nut.
Adjust the axial clearance in the bearings as described in section 13.4.
Install the brake disc and secure the caliper to the steering knuckle with new self-locking bolts. Tighten the bolts to 115 Nm.
Install the spring contact, fill the hub cap with grease and press the cap into the hub using a hammer with a rubber striker.
Install the wheel, tighten the wheel mounting bolts and remove the vehicle from the stands.
