Suspension springs and shock absorbers are installed separately.
Removal and installation of the shock absorber
The front shock absorber also serves as a suspension travel limiter, so to remove it, the car must be on wheels or the transverse levers must rest on stands.
Loosen the shock absorber upper mounting nut and remove the plate and rubber cushion.
Raise the car, while the shock absorber rod should come out of the upper mount. Put stands under the car body.
Compress the shock absorber rod and set the shock absorber vertically.
Unscrew the bolt and nut of the lower shock absorber mounting and remove the shock absorber.
Check the mounting points and wear of the rubber parts of the shock absorber mounting. When installing, fix the shock absorber in the lower transverse arm and pass the rod into the hole in the body. Place a jack under the lower transverse arm and raise it until the rod exits. Install the rubber cushion and plate, tighten the fastening nut. On fig. 209 shows the upper and lower shock absorber mounts.
